A bounty-hunting pig finds himself traveling the world with a free-spirited elephant he’s been meaning to capture. Images of Bill the Cat from the graphic novel Bloom County by writer Berkeley Breathed can be seen as one of Hitpig’s rewards and on a makeshift parachute. Pickles: Eat your heart out, Dumbo! Hitpig: He can actually fly. Referenced in Hundurinn Hank í klóm kattarins (2022). Under license from Universal Music Operations Ltd. A new animated film has been released in theaters called HITPIG! . Based on a children’s book called Pete and Pickles by Berkeley Breathed, this is the story of Hitpig (Jason Sudeikis), a pig bounty hunter who returns escaped animals to their owners. Right away, the title makes no sense, the pig doesn’t kill people like a hitman. He should probably be called something like PETE THE BOUNTY HUNTER or just PETE AND PICKLES. His name is literally Hitpig. Then he meets Pickles (Lilly Singh), the elephant who escaped from the arrogant and dishonest Lord of the Leapin Leotard (Rainn Wilson). They form a bond that makes Hitpig question his career and his life. This movie is good. I understand that it wasn’t made with me in mind. The humor is all over the place, sometimes aimed at children, sometimes aimed a little higher. Lots of butt jokes. The story moves a mile a minute, sometimes literally leaving you unable to breathe. The characters all talk fast, I loved hearing Hannah Gadsby as a sassy koala. The film feels low budget and I’m really surprised it was released in theaters. There are some pretty good scenes about the family you choose. HITPIG! It’s a good film I think, but instantly forgettable and not worth spending money on unless you have a young child with ADHD who likes loud noises and bright colors.
